Recommendation - From Blood and Ash

From Blood and Ash  My goodness, I just finished the first three books in the Blood and Ash series and I feel the need to tell the world about it.  Chosen for the chaste role of the Maiden in a land ruled by a mysterious people called the Ascended, Poppy Balfour is trapped. She cannot act freely and her life is already planned out for her. Then she meets Hawke, a dashing soldier with stunning golden eyes.    I summarised the events of the first book above because things get incredibly complicated from this point onwards and there is no way I could include more without spoiling things.  But this world is wonderful! I adore Solis and Atlantia and all the dynamics in these bloodthirsty yet charmingly rustic cultures. Armentrout always does a lovely job of descriptions - which I noticed in her other works - the Lux series (fit aliens - it works!), but here her talent really stood out. Her tone, despite the darkness of some of the plot, is surprisingly upbeat and had me grinning at the page

Recommendation - Castlevania (Animated Series)

Castlevania (Animated Series) With another week comes another recommendation!  If you love fit bisexual vampires, moody monster-hunters, and absolutely awesome magic-users - then Castlevania is for you!  Based on a video game series from the 80s and 90s, the animated series gave new life to the beloved characters in its Netflix adaptation. The animation is truly wonderful with the fight scenes resembling something more of a painting than a cartoon. It is also surprisingly funny for animation with so much bloodshed, heartache, and straight-up brutality.  It is definitely fantasy with enough bad language to impress my grandmother. It is also very, consistently gory and doesn't shy away from sex either. So if any of those things jump out as a 'No' then I wouldn't recommend it for you personally. But if you don't mind that then give it a go!  This animation has exceeded my expectations again and again with stellar writing, crazy-good characters, and a plot too wild to b

Secrets of Baker Street: The Curious Adventures Of The Real Holmes and Watson

I have some news!  My book 'Secrets of Baker Street: The Curious Adventures Of The Real Holmes and Watson' is being published by the lovely people at MX Publishing.  These fun tales follow the female Holmes and Watson as they solve crime incognito as men. Enjoy their weird and wonderful adventures as they discover they may have more in common than a love for uncovering mysteries 🌈. These quirky ladies have a special place in my heart and if you like strange mysteries and a surprisingly comical duo - they might find a place in yours.  I'm doing a reading and q+a on the 6th of June (2021) which you can sign up for here  https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_eXFUSa3WQEOPxS4mn1PXGQ And the official MX link is here  https://mxpublishing.com/products/secrets-of-baker-street-the-curious-adventures-of-the-real-holmes Also available on Amazon UK here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Secrets-Baker-Street-Curious-Adventures/dp/1787057992 And Amazon USA here:  https://www.amazon.com/Secrets-

It's Gonna Be May

So much for the sterling start to summer! It has done nothing but rain here and they always seem to be on my days off! However, this hasn't dampened my mood as finally, I am back to some kind of routine with work. Seeing friends, gaming again, and (fingers-crossed) planning holidays.  Furthermore, I am happy to announce that my script YSAOF received a special mention from London International Monthly Film Festival which is their second-highest honour so thank you to them.  I hope you all have a wonderful month.
